About JSCS formerly known (AJIS)

Journal of Social and Cultural Studies formerly known (Australian Journal of Islamic Studies) provides a platform for diverse and interdisciplinary work, including:
Original research papers from within and outside the Muslim world.
Reviews and review articles, to investigate transformations in community relations, religion, politics culture, society and civilization.
The target of Australian Journal of Islamic Studies is global readership.
This Refereed international Journal provides a transcultural academic sphere that engages scholars in a critical dialogue on ethnicity, politics, religion and culture in this today world.
It also provides a forum for debate on moderation, modernity and coexistence.

Area of Interest

AJIS is published once or twice a year in a hard copy and will be online world wide. The first issue appeared in July 2008.
Particular interests include but are not limited to: Islam and West, Politics/ Democracy and Islam, Inter-civilizations, Healthy Religious practices, Minority rights, Religious Tolerance, Muslims in Australia, Collective Ethics, State responsibility, Islamic Role in civic (society) life, Inter-faith, Ethnicity, Worldviews.

Objectives

AJIS long-term objective is to provide a vehicle for developing mutual understanding for coexistence and contribute to better world community relations. The Journal promotes work that reorientates dominant concepts and presumptions of Muslim-Western relations. The AJIS strives to realize the following aims:
1. Enhancing and promoting scientific research in community relations, politics and religion.
2. Developing cultural understanding, religious tolerance and interfaith of diverse worldviews
3. Promoting civilizational dialogue
4. Supporting peaceful coexistence in and prosperity of the whole world.

Submissions

The requirements of submissions are:
1. Paper/article length (10 to 20 A4 pages maximum, Font: Arial 12, 1.5 line spacing).
2. All papers are to be written in English or Arabic.
3. The first page of the manuscript should contain the article title, author's name, author's affiliation, mailing address, and email address, as well as a descriptive abstract and some keywords.
4. Use ONLY scholarly resources.
5. References, notes and supplementary words for explanations should be numbered consecutively (Please use footnote system, each page new numbering).
6. Manuscripts should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, or published in any form prior to submission to AJIS.
7. Books reviews can be any language but the review submitted must be in English or Arabic.
